Students in Grade 2 (Mrs. Bessette, Mrs. Polseno and Mrs. Creighton's Classes) will be visiting the RI Resource. Recovery Facility in Johnston. They will learn about recycling and conservation - related to their Reading and Social Studies lessons. Bus will leave at 9:30 AM and return to Glen Hills at 12:00 PM.
- 5/19/2022 - Grade 1 Field Trip to Casey Farm
First Graders will be going on a field trip to Casey Farm in North Kingstown. This field trip is an extension of what the students are learning in Science! Leaving at 9:30 AM and returning about 1:30-1:45 PM
5/20/22 - Grade 5 Orientation at Western Hills Middle School 9:30AM - 11:30AM
Students in Grade 5 (who will be transitioning to Western Hills Middle School in the fall of 2022) will be attending the fifth grade orientation at WHMS.
5/24/2022 - Grade 3 Field Trip to Capron Zoo Park 9:15AM - 1:30PM
Students in Grade 3 will be taking a field trip to the Capron Park Zoo in Attleboro, Massachusetts. This field trip has been planned in relation to the third grade Science curriculum - Adaptions/Survival Program. The bus will leave from Glen Hills approximately 9:15-9:30 and returning 1:00-1:30.
5/24/2022 - Grade 5 - Field Trip to the Rhode Island State House 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM
Students in Grade 5 will be taking a field trip to the Rhode Island State House. These students will be given a tour of the R.I. State House and witness a Mock Trial. This field trip will integrate with the fifth grade Social Studies curriculum. Students will leave Glen Hills at 9:00AM and return at 1:30PM
5/24/2022 - Grades 4/5 (Mrs. Ledoux's Class only) field trip to Capron Park Zoo - 9:15 AM - 1:30 PM
Students in Mrs. Ledoux's class will be taking a field trip to the Capron Park Zoo on Tuesday. May 24th. Students will learn about the Adaptions and Survival Program related to their Science curriculum. The class will leave Glen Hills at 9:15 AM (9:30) and return at 1:00-1:30 PM.
6/3/2022 - Grade 5 Field Trip to the Museum of Newport History - 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM
Students in Grade 5 will be taking a field trip to the Museum of Newport History. Students will learn about how the Revolutionary War impacted Newport and Rhode Island. The bus will leave at 9:00AM and return at 1:30PM.
6/6/2022 - Grade 1 (Ms. Joseph's class only) Walking Field Trip to International Cafe'
On Monday, June 6th, (Rain date June 13th), Ms. Joseph's first-grade class will be taking a walking field trip to the Cafe' International Bakery in Cranston. The Students will be given a tour of the bakery. They will have the opportunity to see and learn about how the bakery operates. They will get to sample a muffin made at the bakery.as well as enjoy a drink of water or juice with it. Please be sure to return permission slip if your child has permission to enjoy this bakery treat.
There is no fee for this trip. We will need many BCI approved volunteers. Pre-approved volunteers please indicate on permission slip which day or days you are available to chaperone. Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather and for walking on the day of our trip.
We will begin walking from Glen Hills School at about 9:30 am and returning by lunchtime. Please return permission slips by Wednesday, May 11th - if you need a new permission slip, please let Ms. Joseph know!
6/13/2022 - Grade K - Field Trip to the RI Resource and Recovery Facility
Students in Grade K (Ms. Santonastaso and Mrs. Walton's Classes) will be visiting the RI Resource. Recovery Facility in Johnston. They will learn about real live experiences in recycling and conservation to go along with Unit 4 "Our Earth"- related to their Science and Literacy lessons. Bus will leave at 9:30 AM and return to Glen Hills at 11:45 AM.
